Payroll Supervisor​/Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor/Manager to oversee U.S. payroll and benefits operations for a growing organization in Dallas, Texas. This contract position with permanent potential will lead accurate semi-monthly payroll processing, support employee benefits administration, and partner closely with HR and Finance to maintain compliance and service excellence. The ideal candidate brings strong knowledge of multi-state payroll, hands-on experience with ADP Workforce Now, and a proactive approach to reporting, controls, and process improvement.

Responsibilities:

- Direct end-to-end semi-monthly payroll processing for U.S. employees, ensuring all earnings, deductions, and adjustments are completed accurately and on schedule.

- Administer payroll changes such as onboarding updates, separations, compensation changes, incentive payments, garnishments, and employee reimbursements.

- Validate payroll results before final submission, investigate variances, and resolve issues in partnership with internal stakeholders.

- Collaborate with Finance on payroll funding, reconciliations, and required payroll-related reporting.

- Oversee year-end payroll tasks, including tax form distribution, filings, and maintenance of complete payroll documentation.

- Ensure payroll and benefits practices align with federal, state, and local regulations while safeguarding confidential employee data.

- Manage daily benefits administration activities, including health plans, retirement programs, commuter offerings, enrollment changes, qualifying life events, and terminations.

- Reconcile employee benefit deductions and employer contributions with external vendors, and coordinate with brokers and carriers during open enrollment and ongoing plan administration.

- Prepare recurring and ad hoc reports related to payroll, headcount, turnover, and audit support, while maintaining process maps, calendars, and internal controls.

- Serve as a key resource for employee questions regarding payroll and benefits and identify opportunities to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and process coverage. Requirements - 5+ years of experience managing full-cycle payroll, including semi-monthly processing in a multi-state environment.

- Demonstrated expertise handling payroll for an employee population of more than 500 employees.

- Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing and employee data maintenance.

- Experience administering employee benefits programs and reconciling deductions and employer contributions.

- Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll compliance requirements, tax reporting, and year-end processing.

- Ability to analyze payroll data, investigate discrepancies, and produce clear reports for HR, Finance, and leadership.

- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment with confidential information, and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
