We’re working with a global executive search firm that is building out its Commodities Trading practice in Dallas.

The business has ambitious plans to significantly grow its Dallas office, making this a great opportunity to join at an early stage and develop your career as the team scales.

They are looking to hire two ambitious Researchers to join the Commodities Trading team.

This is an opportunity to enter one of the most lucrative and fascinating areas of global executive search, working directly with some of the world’s leading commodities traders and major global trading organisations.

The roles will have two core areas of focus:

• Search Execution – researching, identifying and engaging high-performing traders for live mandates across the global commodities markets.
• Trader Intelligence / Hotlist Management – building and managing a carefully selected network of elite traders, maintaining regular contact, understanding their performance and motivations, and keeping them informed about opportunities and developments across the market.

The business operates in an incredibly candidate-led market. The challenge isn’t finding clients – it’s identifying and building relationships with the very best traders globally.

You could be speaking with individuals generating $25m+ P&Ls, with individual placement fees ranging from approximately $200k to $750k.

This role is all about drive, work ethic and communication ability.

• Confident approaching senior, highly successful individuals
• Able to adapt your communication style to different personalities
• Interested in developing genuine market expertise rather than simply sourcing CVs
• Motivated by building a long-term career within executive search

You do not need to arrive as a commodities expert. You’ll be trained in the market, how to engage with traders and how to operate within a high-value executive search environment.

The initial focus will be on becoming an exceptional Researcher and developing a deep understanding of the commodities trading market.

They are looking for someone prepared to make a minimum commitment of around 12 months to the Researcher position, with a clear pathway to progress into a more client-facing Consultant role as your market knowledge, network and commercial skills develop.

This is definitely not a passive research position.

You’ll be on the phone, headhunting, building relationships and becoming embedded in a market populated by some of the most successful traders in the world.

For someone who is competitive, hungry, loves speaking to people and wants their effort to translate into significant long-term career and earning potential, this is an excellent platform.

You will likely have 12 months recruitment or executive search experience.
