The Director of Infrastructure and Cloud Technology is responsible for the strategy, architecture, security, financial management, and operation of all cloud and infrastructure platforms across the organization. This role owns cloud platforms and services within AWS, Azure, and SaaS environments, as well as on-premises compute, storage, and supporting infrastructure. The position ensures reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure aligned with NIST-aligned Zero Trust Architecture principles.
This role serves as the executive owner of infrastructure and cloud platforms, balancing performance, security, resiliency, and cost efficiency. The Director leads platform design and migrations, supports data governance initiatives, manages vendor and SaaS relationships, and delivers highly available infrastructure supporting both business operations and event-driven environments.
JOB FUNCTIONCloud Platform Strategy & Operations
- Own the architecture, deployment, and operation of cloud platforms including
AWS, Azure, and SaaS-based applications - Establish cloud standards, landing zones, guardrails, and operating models
- Ensure availability, scalability, and resiliency across all cloud tenants
- Lead continuous optimization of cloud platforms for performance and reliability
- Own on-premises infrastructure including compute clusters, hypervisors, and storage arrays
- Oversee Broadcom-based cluster sand enterprise on-prem storage platforms
- Manage hybrid integrations between on-prem and cloud environments
- Ensure on-prem platforms align with cloud-first and zero trust strategies
- Design and operate infrastructure aligned with
Zero Trust principles and NIST guidance - Apply least-privilege access, segmentation, and continuous verification across compute, storage, and services
- Partner with cybersecurity leadership to integrate security controls into infrastructure design
- Ensure secure workload identity, service-to-service authentication, and network isolation
- Own enterprise
DDI architecture across on-prem and cloud environments - Design DDI systems supporting zero trust networkingfor public and private networks
- Ensure proper IP space design, conflict avoidance, and lifecycle management
- Integrate DDI with cloud-native services while preventing overlap or collision with on-prem networks
- Own cloud storage platforms including
AWS storage services, One Drive, and Share Point - Apply data governance, retention, and classification policies across storage platforms
- Ensure secure access controls and compliance with organizational standards
- Partner with data, security, and legal teams on governance enforcement
- Lead migrations from
VMware-based environments to cloud-native compute platforms - Design and execute workload migrations to AWS and Azure
- Modernize infrastructure to reduce technical debt and improve scalability
- Ensure migrations meet security, performance, and business success criteria
- Design and support third-party platforms such as Databricks on AWS
- Build and operate Windows Server and Linux compute environments in Azure
- Ensure third-party solutions integrate securely within zero trust frameworks
- Maintain architectural consistency across vendor and internally managed platforms
- Architect highly redundant and resilient infrastructure across cloud and on-prem platforms
- Design multi-region, multi-zone, and fault-tolerant architectures
- Own disaster recovery and business continuity planning for infrastructure services
- Test and validate failover, recovery, and restoration procedures
- OwnCAPEX and OPEX budgets for infrastructure and cloud platforms
- Develop and manage cloud cost forecasting and optimization models
- Monitor and optimize spend across AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365
- Implement cost controls, tagging standards, and usage visibility
- Report financial performance and forecasts to executive leadership
- Own infrastructure and cloud project initiation and planning
- Lead or oversee project management for platform and migration initiatives
- Define success criteria, milestones, and delivery metrics
- Maintain a proven track record of on-time, on-budget project completion
- Own domain name strategy, registration, and lifecycle management
- Support public-facing websites and internet services
- Work with third parties on domain hosting, DNS, and web services
- Ensure proper integration between internet-facing DNS and internal DDI systems
- Prevent namespace conflicts, routing issues, and security exposure
- Serve as a senior infrastructure and cloud leader within IT
- Mentor engineers and administrators across cloud and infrastructure domains
- Collaborate with network, cybersecurity, data, AV, and application teams
- Promote operational excellence, documentation, and continuous improvement
