SAS Consultant

We are seeking a highly experienced SAS Administration Technical Lead with 10+ years of hands-on expertise in administering enterprise SAS platforms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, supporting, and optimizing SAS environments across development, test, and production systems, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and regulatory compliance.

• Install, configure, administer, and maintain SAS platforms (SAS 9.x and/or SAS Viya) across multiple environments.
• Manage SAS security
  , including user access, roles, permissions, and integration with LDAP/Active Directory
  .
• Monitor system health and performance; perform performance tuning and optimization
  .
• Configure and manage batch job scheduling and workload automation using SAS tools and enterprise schedulers (e.g., Autosys).
• Implement and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.
• Apply SAS patches, hotfixes, and upgrades with minimal downtime.
• Provide L2/L3 production support
  , troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, network, and storage teams for capacity planning and system stability

• Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory standards
  ; maintain documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.
• Drive automation and continuous improvement using scripting (Shell, Python, Power Shell).
• Support modernization initiatives, including SAS Viya adoption and cloud migration

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience as a SAS Administrator in enterprise environments
• Strong hands-on experience with SAS 9.x platform administration (SAS Viya is a plus)
• Proficiency in Linux/Unix system administration
• Strong experience in SAS metadata, security, and user management
• Experience with job scheduling and workload management tools
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with SAS Viya on Kubernetes
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Strong automation and scripting skills
• Experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines or Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) concepts
