Overview
Position Summary
The Enterprise Systems and Application Architect supports the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the Authority’s enterprise systems, including business systems (ERP, financial, HR), operational systems (water/wastewater treatment, regulatory compliance, laboratory information management), and enterprise asset management systems, among others. The Analyst ensures these applications operate reliably, securely, and efficiently to support organizational operations, regulatory requirements, and strategic initiatives.
This position serves as a critical link between business units and IT, translating operational and regulatory needs into system configurations, workflows, and reporting solutions while ensuring data accuracy, process standardization, and user adoption across the enterprise. This position is located at our Dallas, TX facility.
Responsibilities- System Configuration & Administration:
Configure, maintain, and administer enterprise applications, including workflows, modules, business rules, security roles, and user roles, ensuring secure and efficient operation. - Business Process & Workflow Support:
Analyze business, operational, and regulatory requirements and configure system workflows, rules, and forms to standardize and optimize processes. - Implementation, Upgrades & Release Management:
Support system implementations, enhancements, and upgrades; participate in coding, testing, validation, and deployment planning to ensure smooth transitions. - Data Management & Quality Assurance:
Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and integrity. Design, implement and monitor system database, validate reports, and manage imports/exports or integration data flows. - Integration Support:
Coordinate and validate integrations between enterprise systems (ERP, EAM, LIMS, SCADA, GIS, etc.), ensuring reliable data transfer and functional alignment. - Reporting & Analytics:
Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and extracts to support operational metrics, regulatory compliance, and audit requirements. - User Support & Training:
Provide application support, troubleshoot issues, develop documentation, and train users to ensure effective adoption of systems. - Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:
Serve as the liaison with software vendors and internal stakeholders to manage enhancements, resolve issues, and ensure systems continue to meet organizational needs.
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or another computer-related degree plan is required. - Experience
:
Minimum of 4 years of experience administering or supporting enterprise applications. Experience configuring workflows, business rules, forms, or system modules. Experience supporting users, troubleshooting application issues, and working with software vendors. Experience with data management, data validation, or data integrations (API-based, ETL, or import/export processes). - Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
:
CompTIA Security+ or approved equivalent (Required). Advanced security certifications (Preferred). Valid Texas Driver’s License (Required) - Relevant Certifications (Preferred):
Certifications in Enterprise Platforms;
Project Management or Process Improvement Certifications;
Database Certifications. - Knowledge
:
Principles of enterprise system administration, enterprise-wide data management concepts, API/web services/ETL/file-based integrations, user access control and security, change management, testing, and rollout planning; business processes and functional domain knowledge related to ERP/EAM. - Skills & Abilities
:
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills; ability to translate business requirements into system configurations; effective communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders; proficiency in reporting, dashboards, and data analysis; ability to manage multiple projects; attention to detail; ability to learn new systems quickly.

Typically receives general direction about assignments and work results to be attained. Requires judgment to determine methods and data to be considered. - Physical Demands
:
Primarily a sedentary, office-based role. Physical demands are minimal. - Working Conditions
:
Standard office setting. 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday, with occasional extended hours for deadlines or urgent tasks. - Tools and Equipment Used
:
Laptop and two 32-inch monitors. Software development tools:
Visual Studio, IDEs, SQL management, ETL tools, and Power BI.
