Data Engineer, Cloud Computing
We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to lead automation-driven modernization of data and reporting workloads in a highly regulated environment. This role focuses on reducing manual effort, accelerating delivery, and improving reliability through scalable architecture, automation, and AI-assisted tooling.
The scope spans legacy data pipelines, analytics platforms, and multi-instance data environments. The objective is to design and scale repeatable modernization patterns that reduce operational risk while enabling consistent delivery across multiple implementations.
This is a senior, hands-on role with ownership across architecture and execution. The ideal candidate will bring clear thinking, structured problem-solving, and disciplined delivery to complex modernization efforts.
Responsibilities- Assess existing data and reporting environments to identify opportunities where automation can replace manual work.
- Design and drive an automation-first data architecture that supports scalable modernization across multiple environments
- Define and implement repeatable patterns for modernizing legacy data pipelines, analytics workloads, and reporting systems
- Leverage AI-assisted and tool-based approaches to accelerate modernization while maintaining control and compliance
- Establish architectural guardrails to ensure modernization efforts are consistent, auditable, and reliable
- Partner closely with data engineering, platform, and delivery teams to translate architecture into executable solutions
- Stay actively involved in hands-on execution to validate designs and drive outcomes
- Provide clear technical direction and pragmatic decision-making throughout the modernization lifecycle
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture
- A proven track record of modernizing complex, legacy data and reporting environments
- Demonstrated ability to reduce manual effort through automation, accelerators, or AI-assisted tooling
- Strong grounding in data architecture and analytics layers
- Experience designing and operating data pipelines and processing workflows
- Knowledge of data quality, validation, and reconciliation
- Experience owning both architectural design and hands-on execution
- Experience operating in large-scale or regulated environments, with attention to compliance, control, and risk
- Experience supporting payer or healthcare data environments
- Background working across multi-instance or multi-tenant data platforms
- Experience acting as a technical lead or thought partner on modernization initiatives
