About the Role

Spire is seeking a highly analytical and user-centric Product Manager to own the critical first impression of our platform: the consumer Sign-Up Funnel. This role's primary mission is to optimize the consumer journey from initial awareness through successful sign-up and becoming an active, transacting member. A deep understanding of user experience, conversion rate optimization (CRO), and the complexities of financial onboarding (specifically, bank account linking) is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
Conversion & UX Optimization (Core Focus)
  • End-to-End Funnel Ownership:
    Define and optimize the consumer journey from landing page to successful account activation, focusing on reducing friction and drop-off rates.
  • Bank Linking Expertise:
    Drive the product strategy for secure and compliant bank account linking (e.g., Plaid, MX) to maximize completion rates while balancing security and user trust.
  • Prototyping & Design:
    Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to conceptualize, prototype, and iterate on user flows and interfaces, ensuring a best-in-class, intuitive experience.
  • Experimentation & CRO:
    Lead a rigorous A/B testing and experimentation roadmap (CRO) to continuously improve conversion metrics and customer satisfaction.
Data, AI, and Innovation
  • Data-Driven Decisions:
    Leverage funnel analytics, user behavior data, and heatmaps to identify opportunities and measure the impact of product changes.
  • AI Tool Comfort:
    Explore and implement modern product and engineering tools, including AI-driven solutions, to streamline the development process and enhance the user experience.
  • Reporting:
    Own the domain-specific data/reporting for the sign-up funnel, providing clear insights and performance updates to leadership and stakeholders.
Compliance, Risk, and Self-Service (Shared Responsibilities)
  • Risk & Compliance:
    Work directly with Risk and Compliance teams to integrate necessary KYC/AML requirements seamlessly into the funnel without compromising conversion.
  • Self-Service Tools:
    Drive the development of consumer self-service tools relevant to the sign-up process (e.g., profile updates, identity verification).
  • Internal Tools:
    Own and enhance internal operations tools used by support or operations teams to manage and troubleshoot new member accounts and onboarding issues.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Required:
  • 3-5 years as a Product Manager in Fintech, Payments, or Financial Services.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering features using Agile methodology.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and ability to cultivate alignment across business and technology teams.
  • Customer-centric mindset, resilience, and a visionary/strategic thinker with a can-do attitude.
  • Preferred:
  • Experience managing high-volume, mission-critical systems.
  • Experience with product discovery frameworks (e.g., Design Thinking, Dual-Track Agile).
  • Expertise with tools like Jira, Confluence, and analytics platforms.
