GS-7 EligibilityTo be eligible at the GS-07 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience, Education, or a combination of Education and Experience.
One (1) full year of experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as: experience that has equipped you with the competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Qualifying experience must demonstrate possession of each of the following competencies:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Examples of specialized experience include experience providing IT customer service and support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems; coordinate teleconference and distance learning activities; install new upgraded software; collaborate to configure using knowledge of network standards and protocols.
One (1) full year of graduate education in a degree program such as computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, operations research, or technology management or that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Superior Academic AchievementPossess a Bachelor's Degree or expect to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree within the next 9 months and possess at least one of the following criteria: class standing in the upper third of the graduating class; an overall GPA of 3.0 or at least a 3.0 based on courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum; a GPA of at least 3.5 based on the average of required courses completed in my major field or based on the average of required courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum;
or election to membership in a national scholastic honor society.
To be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below:

One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is defined as: experience that has equipped you with the competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Qualifying experience must demonstrate possession of each of the following competencies:
Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience includes providing IT customer service and support in troubleshooting, recovering, and resolving recurring software/hardware problems; installs and distributes new or upgraded software to ensure customers receive current version of supported software; assist converting user-developed content into workable web pages; assist and installing routine updates and patches to existing programs.

Possess one of the following types of education in a related field (e.g. Information Science, Engineering, Computer Science): a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree and this education must be either in one of the following fields or provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks: computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management.
Combinededucation/experience
Have a combination of specialized experience as described in A and graduate education as described in B which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year is creditable.)
