A global organization is seeking an experienced and visionary Global Network Director to lead worldwide network operations. This senior leadership role oversees Network Engineering, Data Centers, and Network Security teams across multiple regions.
The successful candidate will define and execute the global network strategy, with a strong focus on modern, large-scale data center networking, ensuring a highly available, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate global Network Engineering, Data Center, and Network Security teams across multiple locations
- Define and execute strategic plans for network growth, modernization, and optimization
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of the global network infrastructure
- Lead the design, implementation, and operation of complex networking environments, including large-scale data center networks, LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and cloud connectivity
- Manage data center operations, including capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity
- Establish and enforce network security policies to mitigate cyber threats and meet regulatory and industry standards
- Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to align network strategy with organizational goals
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for network hardware, services, and support
- Own and manage the global network operations budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery
- Track emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing, globally distributed team
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on network performance, security posture, and key initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- 10+ years of experience in network engineering and operations, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles
- Proven, hands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating large-scale Leaf–Spine architectures in production data center environments (required)
- Deep expertise in networking protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VPN, SDN)
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience with modern network observability platforms (e.g., Grafana, Elastic, Prometheus)
- Strong background in network security principles, tools, and best practices
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure and operations
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 25%.
- Hands-on experience with Arista Networks technologies (EOS, Cloud Vision, automation frameworks)
- Experience with next-generation networking technologies, including:
- Network automation and orchestration (Python, Ansible, Terraform)
- Software-defined networking (SDN) and network virtualization
- Industry certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, Arista ACE, or equivalent
