The Ideal Candidate

This role offers a senior engineer true ownership of a mission‑critical hybrid Windows and AWS infrastructure in a security‑focused, compliance‑driven environment. It provides hands‑on cloud exposure, automation responsibility, and cross‑functional visibility that significantly expands long‑term career value. This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional server administration into modern infrastructure engineering.

Ideally, this candidate will be located in Dallas, TX with the ability to come into the office 2–3 days per week. Remote candidates within the state of Texas may be considered.

Key Responsibilities

The position is essential to maintaining operational continuity across our Microsoft infrastructure, which currently includes over 100 Windows Servers supporting mission‑critical applications across both on‑premises and AWS environments. The Windows server estate underpins core business systems, customer‑facing applications, identity services (Active Directory / Hybrid Entra ), IIS web infrastructure, RDS environments, and compliance‑controlled workloads.

Qualifications
  • Deep hands‑on Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
  • Strong troubleshooting of Windows infrastructure and production incidents
  • Power Shell scripting for automation and system management
  • Patch management and vulnerability remediation experience
  • Experience operating systems in a hybrid environment (on‑prem + AWS)
  • Identity services administration (Hybrid Entra  / Azure AD Connect)
  • IIS administration and Windows‑based application support
  • Backup, restore, and recovery operations
  • Security hardening and baseline configuration (CIS or similar)
  • Ability to document and follow operational procedures
  • Automation
  • Infrastructure as Code
Desired Hardware and Software Competencies
  • Strong Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP)
  • Experience supporting hybrid environments (on‑prem + AWS)
  • Power Shell scripting and automation
  • Patch management, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening
  • IIS and Remote Desktop Services administration
  • Identity services (Hybrid Entra  / Azure AD Connect, certificates, LDAP)
  • Backup and recovery (AWS Backup, Windows‑based solutions)
  • Familiarity with security and compliance controls (SOC 2, PCI, vulnerability scanning)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues
  • Basic Linux administration knowledge
  • Continuous improvement and automation mindset
