Senior Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to support our corporate IT team in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. This role is responsible for designing, deploying, securing, and maintaining the organization’s network infrastructure. The position requires deep expertise with networking hardware, advanced Layer 3 routing, and wireless technologies, with a strong focus on Fortinet firewalls, switches, and access points. The engineer will work closely with business and technical stakeholders to define project requirements, mitigate risks, uphold compliance standards, and ensure reliable, high‑performance connectivity across all locations.

• Plan, configure, and implement hardware, software, and services in alignment with enterprise architecture and project objectives.
• Lead or contribute to infrastructure-related initiatives from initial planning through delivery.
• Create detailed technical procedures and installation documentation for operations teams.
• Integrate security best practices into all phases of infrastructure design and deployment.

• Maintain accurate asset inventories and up-to-date configuration documentation.
• Monitor and upgrade network hardware and software to ensure stable performance and regulatory compliance.
• Apply firmware and security patches following established change control processes.
• Support and optimize Fortinet-based firewalls, switching, and wireless environments.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Layer 3 routing across the network.
• Review system logs, performance metrics, and availability indicators to proactively address issues.
• Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for complex network incidents.
• Develop, refine, and test disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
• Oversee network backup operations.

• Associate degree or equivalent experience;
  Bachelor’s preferred in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of relevant networking experience, including at least 8 years designing and implementing LAN/WAN/WLAN environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies (Forti Gate, Forti Switch, Forti
  
  AP).
• Advanced knowledge of Layer 3 networking—dynamic/static routing, VLANs, subnetting, inter‑VLAN routing.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Demonstrated proficiency with routing protocols, firewalls, switches, access points, and monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, IEEE 802.11 standards, RF optimization, PoE, and wireless security threats/mitigations.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
