Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to support and maintain enterprise-scale Red Hat Linux environments in a mission‑critical infrastructure setting. This role is responsible for system administration, automation, patching, configuration management, and operational support across virtualized and storage‑integrated environments. The ideal candidate brings strong troubleshooting skills, hands‑on automation experience, and a proactive mindset focused on system reliability, security, and continuous improvement.

You will play a key role in maintaining system stability, executing upgrades and migrations, building automation solutions, and supporting operational excellence through proactive monitoring, analytics, and service optimization. This position also contributes to disaster recovery initiatives, lifecycle management, and on‑call support while operating within strict change management and compliance frameworks.

This role is well‑suited for a Linux professional who enjoys combining technical depth with automation, process improvement, and collaborative infrastructure operations in an Agile‑aligned environment.

• Performs moderate level infrastructure support tasks, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting and provides resolution of problem tickets
• Implements upgrades and patches
• Recommends and remediates problems and vulnerabilities to meet customer needs and maintain a stable environment
• Participates in disaster recovery exercise. Applies analytics on past data like incidents and patterns for predicting issues and takes proactive actions
• Experience in identifying toil in Operating Systems and Build self‑services and contribute towards developing coding best practices
• Develop automated process for lifecycle management, OS software management, and configuration management
• Execute Linux OS maintenance
• Participates in the on‑call rotation
• Practices change control and applies strict adherence to company's change control policy and follows all change guidelines
• Hours of Work:
  Initial work schedule:
  Monday – Friday, then will transition to either Tuesday‑Saturday OR Sunday‑Thursday

• Service Now
• 3 to 5+ years Red Hat Linux administration, configuration, upgrades, migrations, and patching professional experience
• Experience using Satellite for Linux Patching, automation and orchestration technologies, including Ansible (Playbooks, Tower), Python, Power Shell, etc.
• Experience with using Git Hub or other version control tools for source code management. Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of VMWare
• Understanding of Storage & Blade Technologies that integrate with Virtualization
• Progressive knowledge pertaining to concepts and principles in functional area
• General working knowledge of NAS, SAN, and networking
• Agile practices, including Scrum and Kanban practices (strongly desired)
• Familiarity with Big Fix, RHEV, and/or Oracle RAC is a plus
