Senior Azure Cloud/Dev Ops Engineer

6‑Month Contract to Hire

Dallas, TX (Hybrid 2‑3 days onsite)

Build scalable, automated, repeatable Azure infrastructure practices while helping mature the cloud engineering capability and reducing reliance on manual processes.

• Azure and AWS knowledge with hands‑on experience in Azure (Microsoft Entra , Azure Update Manager, Azure Virtual Desktop, API Management, Application Gateway, Load Balancer, App Services)
• Terraform (some experience)
• CI/CD pipelines
• Git Hub
• Hands‑on scripting (Power Shell, Azure CLI)
• Docker / Container experience (plus)
• Azure certifications preferred

• Write, develop, and maintain production‑grade code using Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration of Azure infrastructure.
• Design and implement modular, reusable Terraform code libraries and modules to standardise infrastructure deployments across environments.
• Maintain infrastructure definitions in version‑controlled source code repositories (Git Hub) with structured branching, code reviews, and pull request processes.
• Develop and manage Terraform state management and remote backends to support collaborative infrastructure development.
• Troubleshoot and refactor infrastructure code to improve maintainability, security, and performance.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines through code using Git Hub Actions and related automation frameworks.
• Write workflow scripts to automate Terraform plan/apply operations, container builds, and deployment processes.
• Implement automated code validation, linting, security scanning, and approval gates within CI/CD pipelines.
• Continuously enhance pipeline automation through scripting and integration with Dev Ops tools.
• Design, code, and deploy Azure infrastructure solutions using Infrastructure‑as‑Code and automation scripts.
• Implement and configure Azure services including containers, App Services, Virtual Networks, Azure SQL, Key Vault, Storage Accounts, Private Link, Managed SQL, and Azure Backup.
• Translate business and application requirements into secure, scalable cloud architecture implemented through code and automated deployments.
• Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, scalability, performance, and compliance.
• Design and implement cloud migration solutions using automated scripts and IaC frameworks.
• Migrate legacy infrastructure and applications to Azure PaaS services or containerised platforms.
• Develop hybrid cloud connectivity solutions integrating on‑premises systems with Azure using VPN, Express Route, Azure Arc, and Private Link.
• Identify and remediate legacy architecture and technical debt through modern cloud engineering practices.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting configurations using scripted deployments and infrastructure code.
• Configure Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Microsoft Sentinel, and other observability platforms.
• Develop automation scripts to support operational tasks, incident detection, and remediation.

Estimated Minimum Rate: $59.50

Estimated Maximum Rate: $85.00
