We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented
Network & Data Center Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise-level network and data center infrastructure supporting our global business operations. The ideal candidate will work with other members of our global team responsible for ensuring high availability, scalability, and security across mission-critical network environments in our contact center locations and data centers, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support business operations and future growth.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, design thinking problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to optimizing performance, reliability and security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, and data center networks, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network and data center performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and best practices across infrastructure components.
- Coordinate work with clients and our telecommunications and data center providers as part of our complex global and diverse connectivity model.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud integrations, disaster recovery planning, and development of hybrid environments.
- Perform capacity planning, system upgrades, and patch management to maintain optimal performance and security.
- Document network and data center configurations, processes, and procedures for operational consistency and transparency.
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar) and storage systems to ensure efficient resource utilization.
- Provide Tier 3 support for escalated incidents and mentor junior engineers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on experience in network engineering and data center operations.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VLANs, and VPN technologies.
- Experience with enterprise‑grade virtual and physical network and firewall devices (e.g. Cisco, Meraki, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).
- Demonstrated knowledge of network security protocols and advanced firewall configuration, including IDS/IPS and zero‑trust architectures.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, Azure, or GCP, and hybrid infrastructure models.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Must reside in the Dallas, Texas or Austin, Texas metropolitan areas with ability to travel as needed.
