We are looking to hire a highly motivated, best‑in‑class Network Deployment Planner to join our growing Planning and Implementation team within AWS Data Center Delivery. The role involves scoping and planning interdependent capacity scaling projects and new network capacity deployments across several data center locations, reviewing project forecasts and ensuring physical infrastructure resources are available for execution. The Planner works closely with infrastructure supply chain & procurement, network engineering and technical program managers to plan and deliver customer capacity to local data center installation & deployment technicians to facilitate smooth capacity execution.
The candidate should possess a technology background to understand the complexities of Amazon’s sophisticated network architecture, be highly autonomous, detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills, and have experience managing network deployment projects.
- Ensure adherence to timelines.
- Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions and processes always with an eye on improvement.
- Work closely with Install/Deployment Technicians, Supply Chain & Procurement, Network Engineers and Technical Project Manager teams to ensure fast, smooth delivery of on‑demand customer capacity.
- Knowledge of network cabling and optic types.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Familiarity with common networking terms.
- Excellent judgement and analytical skills, ability to prioritize tasks based on fluctuating needs.
- Strong prioritization and time management ability.
- Coordinate design, project timeline/schedule and construction milestones.
- Experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and critical path management. Must be well organized and able to work effectively under time pressure.
- Experience in project management.
- 1+ years of relevant discipline work experience.
- Experience with network hardware: copper and optical fiber cabling, switches, routers.
- 2+ years of data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations experience.
- Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
- Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system.
The base salary range for this position is $76,900.00 - $ USD annually (listed for USA, TX, Dallas and USA, VA, Herndon).
