Optomi, in partnership with an industry leading client of ours, are in search for an IOC Network Operations Specialist. The IOC Network Operations Specialist will provide Tier 2 escalation support for complex cloud and data center network incidents while ensuring timely resolution within established SLA targets. This role is responsible for monitoring network performance and availability, troubleshooting routing, switching, firewall, and interconnect issues, and supporting hybrid cloud connectivity and customer interconnections across a high-availability infrastructure environment.
This position operates within a 24x7 IOC/NOC environment supporting large-scale cloud and data center operations. The schedule consists of 12-hour rotating shifts on a 4-days-on / 3-days-off rotation alternating with 3-days-on / 4-days-off. The organization operates large-scale compute and data center infrastructure environments focused on high-performance cloud services and operational reliability.
Position OverviewThis full-time onsite opportunity in the Dallas/Fort Worth area will support network operations, infrastructure monitoring, incident response, and cloud connectivity within a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Required Experience- 2–5 years of experience within network operations, data center operations, or similar infrastructure environments
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting enterprise network infrastructure including switching, routing, firewalls, and interconnectivity
- Experience with Fortinet products including Forti Gate and Forti Switch strongly preferred
- Candidates with transferable experience from Cisco Nexus or Cisco Firepower environments are encouraged to apply
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and incident response capabilities
- Experience working within fast-paced operational or growth-oriented environments
- Knowledge of core networking concepts (CCNA-level understanding or equivalent)
- Understanding of data center technologies including fiber optics, switches, rack-mounted equipment, and PDUs
- Familiarity with safe work practices in live data center environments including electrical safety and equipment handling
- Strong communication, documentation, multitasking, and organizational skills
- Provide Tier 2 escalation support for network and infrastructure incidents
- Monitor network health and proactively address service degradation
- Troubleshoot routing, switching, firewall, and interconnect issues across cloud and data center environments
- Support root cause analysis efforts for recurring or major incidents
- Execute network changes following established change management processes
Support hybrid cloud connectivity and backbone infrastructure services - Collaborate with engineers, vendors, carriers, and internal teams to resolve escalated issues
- Maintain operational documentation, incident records, and runbooks
- Mentor Tier 1 support staff and data center technicians
- Participate in on-call rotations and major incident response activities
