Job Title: MQ and MQIPT Support Admin

Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Seattle, WA / St Louis, MO / Texas, Charleston

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced IBM MQ and MQIPT Support Administrator responsible for installation, configuration, upgrades, and ongoing administration of messaging infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting, security management, certificate handling, and providing operational support for MQ environments.

Must Have Technical / Functional Skills
  • Extensive experience with IBM MQ and MQIPT
  • Proven experience with installation, administration, and troubleshooting of MQ / MQIPT
  • Experience working with IBM support to raise and resolve technical tickets
  • Strong knowledge of x.509 certificates
  • Strong Linux administration and shell scripting
  • Experience with MQ upgrades, deployments, and decommissioning
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems
  • Experience working in SAFe Agile / ADO environments
  • Ability to provide on-call production support
Good to Have
  • Experience with Perl scripting
  • Knowledge of C programming
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot IBM MQ and MQIPT
  • Maintain messaging infrastructure and ensure system stability
  • Test new MQ patches and versions for compatibility with enterprise OS environments
  • Create and maintain installation packages for MQ developers
  • Manage backup and recovery policies
  • Handle x.509 certificate renewal and troubleshooting
  • Implement and maintain MQ and MQIPT security configurations
  • Maintain system documentation, standards, and knowledge base articles
  • Support ticketing SLA adherence and operational processes
  • Provide on-call support and incident resolution
  • Mentor team members and implement best practices
