Motion recruitment has partnered with a client in Fort Worth TX and seeking an experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to join a high-impact enterprise data team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies, data engineering, SQL development, Databricks, and large-scale data platform implementations.
About the RoleThe ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure cloud technologies, data engineering, SQL development, Databricks, and large-scale data platform implementations.
Candidates local to Dallas area are preferred as the client requires an onsite interview.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and implement enterprise-scale data engineering solutions
- Build and optimize data pipelines using Azure and Databricks
- Develop scalable cloud-based data platforms and analytics solutions
- Support data ingestion, transformation, governance, and reporting initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver business-critical data products
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7 years of software development and/or data engineering experience in Agile and Dev Ops environments
- 5-7 years of hands-on SQL and data analytics experience
- 5-7 years of cloud development and data lake experience, preferably within Microsoft Azure
- Intermediate to Advanced SQL Skills
- Complex joins, subqueries, query optimization, and performance tuning
- Strong experience with large-scale data analytics and reporting
- Databricks Experience
- Databricks notebooks
- Data pipeline development and optimization
- Strong Communication Skills
- Ability to clearly articulate technical experience
- Comfortable discussing architecture, design decisions, and project contributions during interviews
- Strong expertise across the Azure data ecosystem
- Experience with data ingestion, processing, governance, and curation
- Azure native cloud architecture experience
- Airline industry experience is a plus
- Azure Development Certifications preferred
- Apache Spark Certifications preferred
- Strong understanding of Data Warehousing concepts and best practices
