Position Overview
The Amazon Web Services (Pro Serve) team is seeking an experienced Pro Serve Cloud Architect (PCA) to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you will work closely with customers to understand technical requirements and business objectives, designing and implementing tailored cloud solutions. You will be a key player in the pre‑sales process, providing technical expertise and guidance throughout the customer’s cloud journey.
You will be responsible for creating and leading the solution design to address customer business outcomes (CBOs). Operating as the conduit between Pro Serve Account Executives and our Shared Delivery Teams (SDT), you’ll ensure proposed solutions are realistic, achievable, and optimized to maximize CBOs. As a PCA you are a trusted advisor to customers, providing guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions to address customer challenges.
- Design complex, scalable, and secure AWS solutions to deliver customer business outcomes (CBOs)
- Provide technical guidance and best practices during pre‑sales and implementation phases
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Shared Delivery Teams to ensure proposed solutions are realistic and achievable
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers on industry trends and emerging technologies
- Share knowledge within the organization through mentoring, training, and creating reusable artifacts
- Experience managing and delivering large‑scale enterprise IT projects
- Experience with IT compliance and risk management requirements (e.g., security, privacy, SOX, HIPAA)
- Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile/iterative methodologies
- Degree in advanced technology, or AWS professional level certification
- Knowledge of compliance and security standards across the enterprise IT landscape
- Knowledge of AWS services including compute, storage, networking, security, databases, machine learning, and serverless technologies
- Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR
- Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
- Experience managing executive customer relationships and key business stakeholders
- Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and identifying relationships between business services, information, applications and global infrastructure assets
- Experience with enterprise systems including SAP, Oracle, and custom applications
- Experience in performance optimization and cost management for cloud environments
- Experience explaining technical concepts in pre‑sales environments
