Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing Education business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice, working closely with Education Technology companies. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, AWS Cloud Front, AWS Bedrock, AWS Sagemaker, AWS EKS) directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators and solution providers.
Responsibilities- Own the technical engagement and ensure the ultimate success of specific projects.
- Define and design architectures, develop deep expertise in AWS technologies, and build broad know‑how around how applications and services are constructed on the AWS platform.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
- Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership to the EdTech markets for cloud computing, working with a world‑class sales and business development team.
- Lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.
- Gain the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry across the breadth of enterprise architecture.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about the following:
- Helping our customers design and create cloud computing architectures.
- Being a strategic advisor.
- Deep‑dive technical discussions around design and maintaining an intellectual curiosity to keep technical skills current while monitoring industry trends.
- Technical presentation experience – white board, small and large group presentations.
- Web services development/deployment experience, cloud computing.
- Web site/services operations, management, and security.
- Ability to travel 30%.
- 8+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
- 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructure.
- 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.
- Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
- 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
- Experience working with end user or developer communities.
- Knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
