Position: DB2/AS400 Administrator
Location:
Dallas, TX
- Installing, configuring, and administering IBM i (AS400) systems and DB2 databases.
- Installing, upgrading, patching, and fixing databases.
- Monitoring and tuning database performance, queries, and system resources.
- Managing backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Implementing and maintaining security controls, user access, and authorities.
- Handling capacity planning and environment stability reviews.
- Troubleshooting database and system issues and performing root cause analysis.
- Supporting migration, upgrade, and modernization initiatives.
- Coordinating with application, infrastructure, and operations teams.
- Ensuring compliance with ITGC, audit, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintaining technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Performing performance tuning, forecasting, and trending.
- Strong experience with IBM i (AS400) administration.
- Hands‑on experience with DB2 for i database management.
- Expertise in backup/recovery, journaling, and high availability concepts.
- Knowledge of performance tuning and workload management.
- Familiarity with security, auditing, and compliance controls.
- Experience supporting 24×7 production environments.
- Exposure to cloud or hybrid migration projects is a plus.
