About the role

The Senior Business Analyst position for the CBRE GWS Insights Team acts as a project manager and technical lead for business intelligence projects focused on real estate data analyses for CBRE’s clients. Through data warehousing, visualization, and examination, this position helps our clients optimize their operations across all service lines: facilities management, project management, finance, portfolio administration, cost forecasting, etc.

A senior analyst works closely with our clients and database technical team to automate data collection from source operational systems, aggregate and standardize the information in a data warehouse, and develop Tableau dashboards that leverage the warehouse to generate meaningful client insights.

Additionally, the CBRE GWS Insights Team helps our clients develop budgets, benchmark facility operating costs, and predict upcoming capital requirements. A senior analyst leads projects to collect the requisite client real estate data, build and refine cost models using CBRE tools, and present a meaningful financial story in formal reports and briefings.

The ideal candidate possesses a broad skill set across five key categories:
Tableau expertise, experience in data modeling and relational databases, advanced project management, strong client-facing communications, and knowledge of the corporate real estate outsourcing industry. Minimum of five years of experience. This position requires a minimum of 2 days in Office with the rem/nder remote.

What you'll do
  • Perform both technical lead and project manager responsibilities for business intelligence projects for a variety of corporate and government clients.
  • To avoid scope creep, the senior business analyst must maintain effective communication with the project's stakeholders and ensure the project's requirements are well documented.

  • Create and maintain project schedules by developing project plans and specifications, estimating time and resources, monitoring milestone completion, tracking all phases of the project lifecycle, providing timely reporting of issues that impact project progress, coordinating actions and resolving conflicts.
  • Create, maintain and optimize creative data visualizations and dashboards (primarily in Tableau) to derive actionable intelligence.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on data-related processes and analyses.
  • Elicit and clearly document business and data requirements to ensure inclusion in the final solution.
  • Present progress and results to clients (both in-person and virtually) and collect feedback for revisions.
  • Prepare formal presentations and/or written reports describing project methodology, scope, key assumptions, and results.
  • Collaborate with CBRE’s Digital and Technology team to implement automated technical solution for business intelligence projects.
  • Miscellaneous technical support for marketing materials, and data support for CBRE software systems.
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders.
