The IT Student Worker works alongside the IT team to provide professional technical support to RO employees through Help Desk and limited field support functions. This role troubleshoots software, hardware, and network issues both remotely and on-site, helping keep our teams productive across all RO locations.

Help Desk & Technical Support

• Be one of the first faces new employees meet. Take ownership of onboarding by prepping laptops, devices, and accounts so every new RO team member starts strong from day one.
• Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, by phone, and electronically in a timely, professional manner.
• Provide technical support for computer hardware, software, mobile devices, and network issues through the Help Desk.
• Apply sound judgment to identify, prioritize, and elevate issues requiring urgent attention.
• Request assistance from, or escalation, to the appropriate resource when needed.
• Support conference room audio/visual (A/V) setup and troubleshooting.

Employee Support & Communication

• Listen patiently to understand each employee's issue or concern.
• Communicate the status of open issues regularly through resolution.
• Deliver a positive, customer-focused support experience.

Documentation & Systems

• Use Help Desk software to accurately track and record all support tickets.
• Assist with creating and updating knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with users to gather requirements and help determine hardware, software, and system specifications.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Windows, Exchange, Office 365).
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Must be currently enrolled and working toward a bachelor's degree or vocational degree program.

• This is an on-site position with occasional field visits. Working from home is not available, as the role requires hands‑on support at RO office locations and directly with end users.
• The role includes field visits and equipment transportation, requiring a willingness to ride along to assist with equipment transport.
• Will be exposed to various office environments, including high, medium, or low noise levels.
• Ability to work under and handle stress appropriately, especially when managing critical or escalated issues.
• Professional communication with coworkers, management, and vendors is essential.

• Regular sitting or standing, bending, stooping, and carrying equipment and materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Frequent talking, with the ability to express and exchange ideas clearly and effectively.
• Regular near acuity, with clarity of vision at 20 inches or less.
• Constant ability to collect and analyze data, using critical thinking to determine the necessary steps for problem resolution.
• Ability to handle a combination of in-office (desk‑based) support and on‑site field tasks, requiring flexibility in adapting to different work environments.
