Principal Supply Chain Center of Excellence – Technical Sourcing
AT&T – Supply Chain Organization
IntroductionBuild the future of supply chain transformation at AT&T. Our Supply Chain organization is creating a new Center of Excellence to elevate sourcing, strengthen standard ways of working, and prepare the business for what’s next. This team will help define best‑in‑class practices, improve consistency across the organization, and turn strategy into scalable execution. In this role, you’ll help shape how sourcing operates across a large, complex enterprise while influencing the tools, governance, and capabilities that drive long‑term value.
Joboverview
As a Principal Supply Chain Center of Excellence – Technical Sourcing, you’ll serve as a foundational individual contributor within a newly established Supply Chain Center of Excellence reporting directly to the Supply Chain Officer. You’ll help translate a transformation roadmap into practical work streams, operating routines, and repeatable sourcing practices that can scale across three VP‑led sourcing organizations. Your work will connect strategy and execution—bringing structure to ambiguity, building playbooks and governance, and enabling teams to operate with greater consistency, visibility, and impact.
You’ll partner across sourcing, finance, technology, operations, and logistics to develop solutions, influence adoption, and support the future evolution of the broader supply chain organization.
- Translate the Supply Chain Center of Excellence transformation roadmap into sequenced work streams with clear owners, milestones, deliverables, and measurable outcomes.
- Define, document, and implement standardized sourcing processes, including negotiation approaches, RFx procedures, requirements intake, supplier segmentation, and compliance expectations.
- Build and scale playbooks, templates, methodologies, and toolkits that create consistent sourcing practices across multiple teams.
- Partner with technology and analytics teams to improve sourcing workflows, dashboards, KPIs, contract‑related tools, and centralized data assets such as benchmarking, RFx history, and supplier insights.
- Develop structured analyses, business cases, and executive‑ready recommendations that support decision‑making and drive alignment across cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Influence adoption of new ways of working across sourcing, finance, technology, operations, and logistics, while helping extend COE methodologies and performance management over time.
- Deep knowledge of strategic sourcing fundamentals, including category strategy, negotiation design, RFx processes, supplier management, and savings or value measurement.
- Experience designing and standardizing sourcing processes, governance models, and operating routines in a large enterprise environment.
- Ability to structure ambiguous business problems, perform fact‑based analysis, and translate findings into scalable process and performance improvements.
- Experience working with sourcing and procurement technologies, dashboards, KPIs, analytics tools, or contract lifecycle management platforms.
- Strong capability in developing business cases, performance metrics, and executive‑level materials that support operational and strategic decisions.
- Ability to work effectively across complex, matrixed organizations and drive execution through influence rather than direct authority.
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain transformation, consulting, or Center of Excellence roles.
- Experience operating in large, complex, matrixed organizations.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to engage both executive stakeholders and operational teams.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and drive alignment without formal authority.
