Sr. Data Center Fabric Engineer
Role Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Sr. Data Center Fabric Engineer to design and implement modern, high-performance data center networks. This is an engineering-heavy role focused on building low-latency fabrics for advanced workloads, specifically utilizing VXLAN EVPN and RoCEv
2.
Required Skills & Must-Have
Competencies:
- Proven hands-on experience designing and implementing Data Center spine-leaf architectures.
- Strong expertise with VXLAN EVPN in production environments.
- Deep experience with Cisco Nexus (NX-OS) platforms (7K/9K).
- Hands-on experience with RoCEv2 (RDMA over Converged Ethernet v2).
- Strong understanding of Lossless Ethernet design, including DCB (Data Center Bridging), PFC (Priority Flow Control), and ECN (Explicit Congestion Notification).
- Expertise in BGP (underlay/overlay) and advanced routing concepts.
- Demonstrated experience in network design and implementation (this is not a support-only role).
- Strong troubleshooting skills across L2/L3 and fabric overlays.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable spine-leaf data center fabrics using VXLAN EVPN.
- Build and optimize low-latency, lossless Ethernet networks for RoCEv2 workloads.
- Perform hands-on configuration and deployment of Cisco Nexus switches.
- Troubleshoot complex issues including overlay/underlay connectivity, congestion, and packet loss.
- Develop automation scripts/playbooks using Python, Ansible, and REST APIs for configuration deployment and validation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cisco Nexus Dashboard (Fabric Controller / Insights).
- Familiarity with Cisco ACI.
- Experience supporting AI/ML, HPC, or low-latency storage workloads.
- Multi-vendor experience (Arista, Juniper).
