Position: Instructional Design Multimedia Specialist (R4810)

Job Description

Shield AI is seeking a design-driven Instructional Design & Multimedia Specialist to support both our Curriculum and Technical Publications teams. In this role, you will help design and develop engaging, high-impact training experiences for both internal and external audiences, combining video, visual storytelling, and digital learning design.

You will own the creation of high-quality visual and video assets used across LMS-based and in-person learning experiences, translating complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, and user‑friendly content for a diverse range of learners. You will also play a key role in elevating the visual and experiential quality of our training ecosystem through multimedia production, photography, and continuous improvement of learning platforms.

This is a high-impact role for a creative who thrives in a fast‑paced, ever‑changing, mission-focused environment and takes initiative in shaping how users learn and interact with advanced autonomous systems.

What you’ll do
  • Design and develop engaging video‑based and multimedia training content for internal and external audiences
  • Translate complex technical systems and concepts into intuitive, visually compelling learning experiences
  • Own the design, structure, and user experience of LMS‑based training environments
  • Partner with Curriculum and Technical Publications teams to support training, documentation, and content delivery
  • Capture and produce high-quality photography and visual assets to support training and documentation
  • Ensure consistency, usability, and quality across all digital learning content and platforms
  • Continuously improve and evolve training materials to reflect rapidly changing systems and technologies
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with engineers, SMEs, and content teams to ensure technical accuracy and clarity
  • Identify gaps and proactively drive improvements as a self‑starter
Required qualifications
  • Experience in instructional design, multimedia production, or a related field
  • Strong video production, editing, and visual storytelling skills
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, user‑focused content
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality output
  • Self‑starter with an ambitious, proactive mindset
  • Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to work onsite in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with CAD or technical visualization tools
  • Background in technical publications or documentation
  • Experience supporting both internal and external training programs
  • Experience capturing photography in technical or field environments
