PostgreSQL Database Administrator

Mode of Work:
Hybrid (Dallas-TX)

In this role, you will take co-ownership of PostgreSQL infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. You will work closely with development teams to design scalable database solutions and manage production environments in AWS RDS.

• Strong knowledge of data design principles and schema management
• Expertise in database normalization, indexing strategies, and query optimization
• Ability to design and maintain logical and physical database architecture
• Proficiency in creating and maintaining Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)
• 5+ years of hands‑on PostgreSQL administration in production environments
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL tuning and performance optimization
• Expertise in maintaining PostgreSQL on AWS RDS, including parameter groups and configuration
• Strong understanding of query execution plans, indexing, and SQL optimization

• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL security management (authentication, authorization, encryption)
• Experience with IAM integration and access control policies
• Understanding of audit logging and compliance requirements

• Expertise in backup strategies and point-in-time recovery (PITR)
• Experience designing and testing disaster recovery plans
• Proficiency with AWS RDS backup and snapshot management

• Ability to understand and document data flow within database systems
• Proficiency with loading, transforming, and moving data between database environments
• Experience with ETL processes and data migration strategies

• Advanced SQL expertise including complex queries and optimization
• Strong understanding of stored procedures, functions, and triggers
• Ability to review and advise on application-level database interactions
