Senior Systems Engineer

This is a full‑time, hands‑on, senior‑level position requiring expert knowledge and experience designing and managing all aspects of a typical business technology stack, particularly in the small‑to‑medium sized business market. Focus is on Microsoft‑based applications and technology, with day‑to‑day support of ancillary technology, including cloud, phone, storage, and virtualization platforms.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated hands‑on experience, knowledge, and expertise in technology and consulting with an outward mindset for small‑to‑medium sized businesses. You will foster client relationships, own the environment, guide decision‑making, propose and execute projects, and help drive growth for multiple clients simultaneously. • Project management: be well‑organized, craft timelines and deliverables, and communicate clearly with clients. Manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Consultative engagement: identify areas to improve clients' systems and infrastructure (hardware, software, network upgrades), pitch solutions from proposal to implementation.
• Main IT resource for assigned clients in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area.
• Provide clear and sound advice to clients, acting as a true partner.
• Support servers, networks, desktops, laptops onsite and remotely.
• Design, implement, and manage new installations and migrations.
• Resolve system and network issues quickly and professionally.
• Lead by example, mentor junior team members, and assist with onboarding new engineers to the BNC TX team.

• At least 5 years of consulting experience, balancing multiple clients, preferably in the SMB space.
• 5+ years serving in a senior engineer role.
• 5+ years experience with multiple Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Exchange, Azure, Entra, Intune, etc.
• 5+ years of advanced virtualization experience, preferably VMWare.
• 5+ years of network design and optimization, including enterprise‑grade switches, firewalls, and routers.
• Extensive experience in at least one cloud‑based technology (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS).
• Demonstrated experience in core BNC areas: security compromise & system breach prevention/remediation, cloud migrations, physical‑to‑virtual conversions, on‑prem to Office 365 conversions, disaster recovery and business continuity design and build‑out, infrastructure refreshes, network creation and optimization, among others.
• Leadership: ability to lead and mentor a team of systems engineers.
• Communication: ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Problem‑solving: ability to identify and solve complex technical problems.
• Adaptability: ability to adapt to new technologies and changing business requirements.
• Organization: possess excellent organizational skills.
• Independence: can work independently within guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Flexibility: willing to support occasional after‑hours and weekend work.

  CCNA, CCNP, Azure Admin Certifications (e.g., AZ‑104), MCP, MCSE, CompTIA Sec+, A+, Net+.

  MacOS, SQL, Google Workspace, RMM tools, Connect Wise.
