We are growing our go‑to‑market team and looking for a Sales Engineer with strong technical fluency and excellent communication skills to support our expansion.

About the Role

As a Sales Engineer at Oraion, you will partner with Account Executives and founders to lead the technical side of the sales process. You will uncover customer requirements, translate business problems into scalable technical solutions and demonstrate how Oraion’s platform delivers insights and automation across complex environments.

You will work closely with sales, engineering, data and product teams to evaluate feasibility, remove technical barriers and guide them through demos and POCs. This role suits someone who enjoys understanding modern data architectures, AI‑driven workflows and security constraints, and who can articulate complex concepts with clarity and confidence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer architectures, data workflows, challenges and integration requirements.
  • Design and deliver tailored demos showcasing the full capabilities of Oraion’s platform, including retrieval workflows, agents, and automated insight generation.
  • Support POCs by advising on data access, success criteria and early value demonstration.
  • Build solution architectures that map customer environments to Oraion’s platform, including retrieval pipelines, embedding strategies, vector DB usage and integration patterns.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to executives, product leaders, engineering teams and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with AEs and founders to refine deal strategy, technical positioning and value framing.
  • Translate customer requirements into actionable specifications for product and engineering.
  • Identify risks early and propose clear mitigation paths during evaluations.
  • Create reusable demo assets, technical documentation and best practices to accelerate future sales cycles.
  • Stay current on LLMs, agentic systems, retrieval methodologies and emerging AI tooling.
  • Provide structured feedback to product and engineering based on customer conversations.
  • Support expansion opportunities by identifying new use cases and technical pathways.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Architect or similar technical pre‑sales role within SaaS, data platforms or AI products.
  • Strong technical understanding of modern SaaS architectures, data flows, APIs, security models and integration patterns.
  • Ability to discuss retrieval systems, RAG concepts, embeddings and vector databases at a high level (no coding required).
  • Comfortable working with technical stakeholders such as data engineers, software engineers and CTOs.
  • Excellent communication, storytelling and demo skills.
  • Proven experience supporting POCs or evaluations for complex technical products.

    Ability to quickly understand customer environments and identify high‑impact solution paths.
  • Experience operating in fast‑paced startup environments.
  • Optional: familiarity with Python for reading examples or exploring integrations is a plus.
  • Optional: experience with AI workloads, LLMs or agent frameworks.
