IP Engineer III (Carrier IP/MPLS Network) - Dallas TX or Houston TX

• Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize carrier‑grade IP/MPLS networks across core, edge, aggregation, and transport environments.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, expansions, and optimization projects with minimal customer impact.
• Troubleshoot complex routing, convergence, latency, packet loss, and MPLS‑related issues.
• Engineer resilient network architectures using BGP, OSPF, IS‑IS, MPLS, Layer 2/Layer 3 VPNs, and traffic engineering.
• Perform capacity planning, network health assessments, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, field teams, and vendors to deliver scalable and highly available network solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership during maintenance windows and critical network events.

• 10–15+ years of experience in carrier or service provider networking
• Strong hands‑on experience with BGP, MPLS, OSPF, and IS‑IS
• Experience with Juniper, Cisco, Nokia, and/or Ciena routing platforms
• Expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 VPNs, Carrier Ethernet, traffic engineering, and high‑availability network design
• Proven experience leading network migrations, router implementations, and backbone expansion projects
• Excellent troubleshooting skills in large‑scale production carrier networks

• Experience with optical transport technologies such as DWDM, ROADM, and coherent optics
• Experience with automation tools including Python, Ansible, NETCONF, YANG, or vendor APIs
• Industry certifications such as JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE Service Provider, Nokia NRS, or Ciena certifications
