About the RoleWe’re looking for a Junior UX Researcher to join our team on a 12-month contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1–2 years of UX research experience who is passionate about understanding user needs and helping shape better digital experiences for customers and employees.
Working as part of a collaborative Human-Centred Design team, you’ll support research activities that inform product and service decisions. You’ll work alongside experienced UX Researchers, UX Designers, Service Designers, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to gather insights, understand user behaviours, and contribute to evidence-based design.
This role is ideal for someone who is curious, empathetic, organised, and eager to develop their research skills while gaining exposure to a variety of research methods and enterprise-scale digital transformation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Support the planning and delivery of UX research across customer and employee experience initiatives.
- Assist with qualitative and quantitative research activities, including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, contextual enquiries, and discovery sessions.
- Help recruit research participants, prepare discussion guides, coordinate research logistics, and document findings.
- Analyse research data and contribute to synthesising insights, themes, and recommendations with support from senior researchers.
- Assist in creating personas, customer journey maps, and research reports that communicate user needs and opportunities.
- Work closely with UX Designers, Product Managers, Service Designers, and technical teams to ensure research informs design and product decisions.
- Support stakeholder workshops by capturing insights, organising outputs, and helping communicate research findings.
- Contribute to maintaining research repositories, documentation, and best practices.
- Advocate for user-centred design by sharing research insights across project teams.
- Continuously develop your UX research knowledge, methods, and facilitation skills through mentoring and hands‑on experience.
- 1–2 years' experience in UX Research, User Research, Customer Experience Research, Human-Centred Design, Psychology, Human Factors, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting UX research projects through academic work, internships, graduate programmes, or commercial roles.
- Familiarity with common UX research methods such as user interviews, usability testing, surveys, diary studies, or observational research.
- Ability to organise, analyse, and communicate research findings in a clear and structured way.
- Understanding of Human-Centred Design principles and the value of research in product and service development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to engage with users and project teams.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working within Agile teams and collaborating across multiple disciplines.
- A genuine passion for understanding user behaviour and improving digital experiences.
- Exposure to journey mapping, personas, service design, or design thinking approaches.
- Experience using UX research or collaboration tools such as Dovetail, User Testing, Maze, Qualtrics, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with Miro, Fig Jam, Figma, Jira, or Confluence.
- Experience conducting research within digital products, enterprise technology, employee experience, or customer experience environments.
- A degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience, Design, Anthropology, Sociology, or another relevant field.
- Relevant UX Research or Human-Centred Design training or certifications are beneficial but not essential.
