Aboutthe Position
This on‑campus, in‑person role serves as a business systems analyst supporting the Human Capital Management (HR) system needs of SMU. Responsibilities include functional and business support and maintenance for People Soft/Oracle HCM v9.2 (base benefits, benefits administration, ePerformance), Taleo for talent acquisition and recruiting, and Vector for training compliance.

Essential Functions- Configure and analyze supported systems in collaboration with business units to ensure requirements are met efficiently.
- Translate requirements to technical design and work with OIT staff to implement solutions.
- Document business processes and customizations through flowcharting and documentation.
- Research, replicate, and evaluate HCM end‑user system problems; manage People Soft HR security requests and provide day‑to‑day operational system support.
- Provide system testing for new implementations, upgrades, patches, and support business process re‑engineering, streamlining, and best practices.
- Back up Benefits Administrator duties, including daily processing, customer service issues, passive event processing, payroll, time and labor issues.
- Support and maintain Taleo recruiting, integrations, issues, and related business workflows; support Vector integration to People Soft HCM.
- Project manage technology integrations and enterprise‑level solutions.
- Design system specifications and collaborate with HR leads and OIT developers to develop or modify programs and reports.
- Generate reports and validate data using Peoplesoft Query, Oracle SQL, Unified Functional Testing, and other tools.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required during system upgrades or when resolving critical issues.
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer/Management Information Systems or Computer Science. A minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting HCM systems in a functional or business analyst capacity is required. Experience supporting People Soft/Oracle HCM (Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, ePerformance), Taleo, or training/compliance systems such as Vector or similar LMS platforms is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with a customer‑service orientation and ability to develop effective relationships across the university. Ability to manage multiple technical projects, plan, lead, organize, and control them cost‑effectively. Proven experience in systems maintenance (upgrades, patches), configuration, testing, and end‑user support within an HRIS environment. Troubleshooting, issue resolution, root cause analysis, and requirement gathering skills.
Strong working knowledge of PS Query, SQL, Oracle HCM, MS Office, and integration tools/data interfaces (e.g., SFTP, API).
