Drive Enterprise-Wide Data & AI Governance for a Global Industry Leader

Our client is a global organization delivering sustainable solutions across industrial, energy, and environmental markets. As part of a significant enterprise transformation initiative, they are seeking a Data & AI Governance Lead to establish, activate, and manage a comprehensive Data & AI Governance framework across multiple business units.

This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for a governance professional who thrives at the intersection of data strategy, compliance, business process improvement, and organizational change.

What You'll Do

As the Data & AI Governance Lead, you will serve as the central leader for governance initiatives, ensuring data assets are managed consistently, compliantly, and effectively across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise-level Data & AI Governance working sessions and governance councils
  • Establish and operate governance frameworks across business domains
  • Own and manage the enterprise KPI registry, ensuring standardized definitions, ownership, and usage
  • Develop and maintain master data governance standards for:
  • Customer
  • Product
  • Project
  • Produce governance compliance reporting and oversee issue escalation processes
  • Manage governance initiatives as structured programs, including milestones, risks, deliverables, and executive reporting
  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align governance initiatives with operational objectives
  • Support governance implementation alongside data, analytics, and engineering teams
  • Align governance activities with enterprise data platform modernization and ERP transformation efforts
  • Drive stakeholder engagement, organizational adoption, and change management initiatives
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce enterprise Data & AI governance policies

Qualifications

Required

  • 8+ years of experience in:
  • Data Governance
  • Data Management
  • Analytics
  • 3+ years in a governance leadership role
  • Strong program management and change management experience
  • Experience with governance platforms such as:
  • Microsoft Purview
  • Collibra
  • Alation
  • Similar governance tools
  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Experience establishing and managing:
  • KPI frameworks
  • Governance operating models
  • Master Data Management (MDM) programs
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills

Preferred

  • Experience supporting governance in complex, multi-entity organizations
  • Familiarity with ERP environments and enterprise transformation programs
  • Experience working with modern cloud data platforms and analytics ecosystems

Preferred Certifications

  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • Prosci or other Change Management certification
  • CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional)
  • Other relevant Data Governance certifications
