We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support enterprise data retention and information governance initiatives. This role focuses on ensuring organizational data is managed in accordance with legal, regulatory, and internal requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in data governance, records management, compliance, and retention lifecycle processes, along with the ability to work across business and technology teams to improve governance practices and reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities- Support the implementation and maintenance of enterprise data retention and records management programs.
- Review and evaluate data retention requirements across business applications and systems.
- Assess current retention practices and identify areas requiring corrective actions or process improvements.
- Partner with business, legal, compliance, and technology stakeholders to address retention-related risks and compliance concerns.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to retention schedules, data inventories, and governance processes.
- Assist with records classification, storage, archival, and disposition activities throughout the data lifecycle.
- Monitor compliance with retention standards and recommend enhancements to governance controls.
- Participate in audits, reviews, and reporting activities related to information governance and regulatory compliance.
- Promote best practices for data stewardship, retention management, and information handling.
- Experience supporting Data Retention
, Records Management
, or Information Governance initiatives. - Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to information management and privacy.
- Understanding of Data Governance
, Data Lifecycle Management
, and records retention principles. - Experience identifying compliance risks, control gaps, and implementing corrective actions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience managing or supporting Records Information Management (RIM) programs.
- Familiarity with Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) and related privacy documentation.
- Experience with governance and privacy platforms such as One Trust
, Collibra
, Microsoft Purview
, or Varonis
. - Knowledge of privacy and data protection regulations such as GDPR
, CCPA
, or similar frameworks. - Experience supporting audit readiness, compliance reviews, and regulatory assessments.
- Background in data classification, metadata management, information inventories, or retention scheduling.
