Platform Engineer

Description

This role is responsible for designing, building, securing, and maintaining containerized workloads at scale across Kubernetes, Open Shift (OCP), GCP, and other cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will ensure the reliability, performance, scalability, and security of enterprise container platforms supporting critical production applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize Docker container images using industry best practices, including multi-stage builds and minimal base images.

Maintain, version, and manage container images within enterprise container registries.

Ensure container portability and consistency across development, staging, and production environments.

Deploy, manage, and scale applications within Kubernetes and Open Shift clusters.

Configure and maintain Kubernetes resources, including Deployments, Stateful Sets, Daemon Sets, Services, and Ingress controllers.

Monitor cluster health, performance, and availability, proactively resolving production issues.

Implement secure containerization practices to minimize vulnerabilities and reduce attack surfaces.

Utilize container security tools such as Trivy, Anchore, Clair, or similar solutions for image scanning and compliance.

Enforce runtime security, RBAC, and least-privilege access principles, including non-root container execution.

Implement and manage policy enforcement frameworks such as Kyverno, OPA/Gatekeeper, or similar technologies.

Ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, and industry security standards.

Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to deliver scalable cloud-native solutions.

This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $76.00 - $82.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
