* Position Overview:

* We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Underwriter to join our Energy Casualty team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding Starr Insurance's reach throughout the Southeast, with a specific emphasis on Southeast producers. This role requires a deep understanding of casualty lines of coverage and a strong background in energy underwriting.

* Key Responsibilities:

** Develop and maintain a profitable Energy Casualty portfolio, focusing on strategic growth and market penetration.
* Cultivate relationships with key Southeast producers to drive new business opportunities and strengthen existing partnerships.
* Conduct thorough underwriting analysis to assess risks and determine appropriate coverage terms.
* Prepare and issue indications, quotations, and binders with precision and attention to detail.
* Monitor and manage the new business pipeline, ensuring timely follow-ups and conversions.
* Actively solicit submissions from brokers and clients, demonstrating a proactive approach to business development.
* Provide exceptional service and support to clients, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
* Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions to inform underwriting decisions.
* Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and strategies to enhance the competitiveness of our Energy Casualty offerings.

* Qualifications:

** Bachelor’s degree preferred; advanced degrees or professional designations (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience underwriting casualty lines of coverage, including Worker’s Compensation, General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Excess Liability.
* Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop tailored solutions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and brokers.
* Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Proficiency in underwriting software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.#LI-SB1
