Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Complex Excess Construction Claims Consultant to join our claims team. This role is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of high-severity and high-exposure excess casualty claims, including those involving complex liability, multi-party litigation, and large-loss scenarios. The ideal candidate has a strong background in excess casualty claims handling and brings a strategic, analytical approach to claims resolution.
Compensation- $130,000 - $160,000/year (based on experience)

- Manage a portfolio of complex excess casualty claims from initial assignment through resolution, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze coverage and liability exposures for excess layers, including coordination with underlying carriers and defense counsel.
- Participate in mediations, settlement conferences, and litigation strategy discussions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including underwriting, actuarial, and legal teams to assess risk and loss trends.
- Provide timely and accurate reserving recommendations and updates.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and third-party administrators (TPAs).
- Prepare detailed reports and updates for senior claims leadership and reinsurers as needed.
- 8+ years of casualty claims handling experience, with a focus on complex and excess liability claims.
- Deep understanding of general liability, umbrella/excess coverage forms, and litigation management.
- Experience with construction, transportation, products liability, or other high-exposure industries is preferred.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-severity claims in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree required; JD or CPCU/ARM designation a plus.
