The candidate must have the ability to underwrite property risks across the spectrum of E&S business while providing leadership, direction, and technical guidance to the team and maintaining a balanced portfolio across both primary and excess placements. Position requires the ability to underwrite 100%, primary/shared and layered, and excess structures. A strong understanding of current market conditions, the ability to make timely underwriting decisions, manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, and drive execution across the team are essential.

Partner with regional leadership and peers to help shape strategy, foster a high-performing culture, and continue building a nationally recognized Lexington team. Underwrite risks to maintain and profitably grow our E&S portfolio across desired business segments while supporting team production goals. Collaborate with colleagues internally and maintain strong visibility and relationships with wholesale trading partners. Review and negotiate manuscript form wordings and coverages.

Lead, coach, mentor, and develop underwriters within the zone, providing technical expertise, guidance, and support for professional growth. Assist with portfolio management, talent development, and execution of regional business objectives.

An insurance professional with a minimum of 5 years of Commercial E&S underwriting experience. Proven ability to underwrite risks across the spectrum of E&S business while providing leadership and direction to a team and maintaining a balanced portfolio across both primary and excess placements. Established relationships within the territory's wholesale brokerage community. Prior team leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience, with demonstrated success developing underwriters and fostering collaboration.

Strong knowledge and understanding of CAT modeling, including OEP/AEP, TvAR, AAL, and Catastrophic Technical Premiums (TCPs). Clear understanding of ISO form usage. Ability to influence, motivate, and drive results across a team while balancing underwriting discipline and growth objectives.

For positions based in Illinois the base salary range for this position is $120,000-$150,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
