JOB SUMMARY
Works under general supervision of Manager Language Services Department. At UT Southwestern Medical Center, every patient interaction is an opportunity to provide exceptional care and clear, compassionate communication is at the heart of that mission. As a language Interpreter II, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our Spanish-speaking patients and their families fully understand their care, feel heard, and are empowered to make informed decision about their health.

In this role, you will provide accurate, culturally sensitive interpretation between English and Spanish in a variety of clinical and non-clinical settings, supporting physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. You will help bridge language and cultural gaps, ensuring that every patient receives equitable, respectful, and high-quality care.

Shift: During training 8am-4:30pm. Training should last from 8-10 weeks. After training the shift is to be determined (TBD). Candidates should be prepared to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
Required

• Education
  Associate's Degree required with four (4) years of job-related experience in a health care setting preferred or

• Experience
  2 years of interpretation experience with use of medical terminology and excellent customer service skills and Must speak, read, and write English and target language fluently.

• Licenses and Certifications
  (MINC) MEDICAL INTERPRETER NATL CERT If not completed at the time of hire, the expectation is to achieve the Medical Interpretation National Certification within the first 18 months of employment.
