Qualifications

A global law firm seeks to hire a mid-level associate to join their dynamic Health Care practice in the Dallas office.

The ideal candidate should have at least 3-5 years of regulatory and transactional health law experience received from working at firm or in-house. Working and strategic knowledge of HIPAA, Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, False Claims Act, and relevant state analogs of these statutes/regulations is a must, as well as familiarity of the Medicare IOMs and the corporate practice of medicine. An understanding of corporate law, antitrust law, employment law, and administrative law is a plus.

The candidate will provide counsel on operational, regulatory, transactional and litigation matters to the following types of clients in the health care industry: physicians, dentists, HHAs, ALFs, SNFs, DMEs, IPAs, hospitals, ACOs, chiropractors, mHealth providers, audiologists, academic medical centers, health systems, pharmacies, etc. The attorney will play an integral role in supporting and growing the health law practice in a collegial and collaborative environment.

This associate will work closely with the members of the health law group (as well as with members of other practice groups at the Firm) by assisting with memo drafting, letter writing, contract preparation, and appeals. This associate will benefit from immediate client contact, including counseling clients on daily strategic operations, ranging from various ways to establish an ACO, to appealing third-party payor appeals, to responding to governmental subpoenas.
