This Dallas based employment defense practice represents regional and national employers in state and federal courts across Texas. The group is built around experienced trial lawyers who handle cases through summary judgment and trial, and who expect associates to take active roles in litigation strategy and courtroom advocacy.
The position is intended for a Texas licensed employment litigator who wants meaningful responsibility, steady case flow, and long term professional development within a well structured practice.
The Practice:The group defends employers in matters involving:
- Texas Labor Code claims and TWC proceedings
- Title VII, ADA, ADEA, and related federal statutes
- FLSA wage and hour litigation
- Retaliation and whistle blower claims
- Wrongful termination and discrimination disputes
- Non-compete and restrictive covenant enforcement
- Employment related tort claims
Cases are litigated in both Texas state and federal courts. The team regularly handles dispositive motion practice, including traditional and no evidence summary judgments, and takes matters through trial when appropriate.
Associates are not limited to research support. They are expected to contribute substantively to case strategy, client communication, and courtroom proceedings.
Responsibilities:- Manage employment litigation matters from pre suit evaluation through resolution or trial
- Draft and argue dispositive motions in Texas state and federal courts
- Conduct and defend depositions
- Handle written discovery and motion practice
- Prepare witnesses and participate in mediations
- Take active roles in trial preparation and courtroom proceedings
- Advise employer clients on litigation risk and strategy
The expectation is ownership of cases, sound judgment, and strong written advocacy.
How the Team Operates:The Dallas office is structured, collaborative, and litigation focused. Associates are given real responsibility while working closely with experienced employment trial lawyers who are accessible and invested in development.
In office time is used intentionally for case strategy and mentorship. Flexibility is respected, but preparation and accountability are expected.
This is not a volume driven practice. Quality of work, credibility with clients, and long term growth matter.
Qualifications:- Active member in good standing of the Texas Bar
- 3+ years of employment litigation experience in Texas
- Experience defending employers in state and federal court
- Demonstrated experience handling dispositive motions, depositions, and direct client interaction
- Ability to independently manage matters and meet litigation deadlines
This position is intended for practicing Texas employment litigators who are ready for substantive responsibility and continued growth.
Compensation:- Base salary range of $160,000 to $220,000, depending on experience
- Performance based bonuses that are a meaningful component of total compensation
