Position Details

We are currently seeking an Oil & Gas Title Attorney to join our dynamic legal team.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of experience in oil & gas title examination.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive oil and gas title examinations, including surface, mineral, royalty, and leasehold interests
  • Prepare and review drilling, division order, acquisition, and supplemental title opinions
  • Examine and analyze deeds, leases, assignments, probate records, and other land and title documents
  • Identify title defects and curative requirements; draft and coordinate curative instruments and corrective filings
  • Support due diligence efforts for acquisitions, divestitures, financings, and oil and gas development projects
  • Communicate and collaborate with landmen, clients, and internal legal and business teams regarding title matters
  • Assist senior attorneys with complex title issues, special projects, and advanced title analysis
  • Monitor and stay current on developments in oil and gas law, title standards, and jurisdiction‑specific requirements
Qualifications
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice in Texas.
  • 1+ year of experience drafting title opinions covering lands in Texas is ideal.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
