About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Ad Valorem Attorney to join our municipal law practice. This is a full-time, in-office position focused on representing governmental entities in matters involving ad valorem taxation, civil litigation, collections, and related proceedings.

The ideal candidate will have strong courtroom experience, a solid understanding of property tax law, and a demonstrated background in government receivables collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle civil litigation matters from inception through trial
• Manage collections for government receivables, including delinquent ad valorem taxes
• Oversee and prosecute property foreclosure actions in the municipal sector
• Draft and argue motions and pleadings
• Manage appellate processes, including briefing and oral argument
• Coordinate with municipal clients and government officials
• Maintain compliance with applicable state and local laws governing tax collection

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of [Insert State]
• Minimum 3 years of experience in collections and handling ad valorem tax cases
• Demonstrated civil litigation and trial experience
• Experience in property foreclosure proceedings
• Familiarity with appellate procedures
• Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
• Excellent organizational and case management abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience representing municipalities or governmental entities
• Experience handling high-volume collection dockets
