Paralegal

Role Description

The Dallas office of Walters Balido & Crain, an AV-rated civil litigation law firm, is currently reviewing resumes for a paralegal with 3+ years of experience in a law firm atmosphere, including maintaining a heavy docket. Civil litigation/insurance defense and personal injury experience is preferred. This position requires a person who is well-organized and must be deadline-driven. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

• Draft/prepare discovery responses with objections and document production
• Order records
• Coordinate experts
• Communicate, via phone, emails, and written correspondence, with court coordinators, outside counsel, clients/adjusters, mediators, etc. to provide details and updates on upcoming events and various items
• Compile various documents and case information to provide to experts, mediators, client/adjusters, outside counsel
• Keep calendar up-to-date with case information and new developments including trials, hearings, deadlines
• Draft, file, and serve various documents including, deposition notices, hearing notices, scheduling orders, motion to quash, motion for continuance, proposed orders, etc.
• Draft legal documents, including but not limited to correspondence, pleadings, discovery responses and requests, controverting affidavits, Expert Designations, and motions
• Electronic filing with the court
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, and inspections
• Comfortable with docket management

Experience:

• Paralegals: 3 years (Required)
• Microsoft Office: 3 years (Preferred)
• Personal Injury
