Litigation Paralegal Role:
The Litigation Paralegal will play a key role in overseeing complex discovery, database management, and trial preparation in high-stakes matters. This Litigation Paralegal position requires advanced e discovery expertise, strong organizational skills, and the ability to independently manage case workflows while exercising sound judgment.
Assist with strategic data collection decisions, budgeting, and vendor coordination
Estimate discovery costs and negotiate with e-discovery vendors
Interview clients regarding data locations and oversee document collection
Manage and organize large-scale databases
Create searches, apply filters, structure databases, and manage document reviews
Maintain, index, and organize documents for long-term government investigations and white collar matters
File documents via PACER and e-File Texas
Conduct research using Westlaw or Lexis, TLO background searches, and obtain records from smaller courts
Utilize Excel for tracking and organizing case data
Use Adobe for red actions, Bates labeling, combining documents, and bookmarking
Assist with subpoenas, discovery responses, and IDR requests in tax-related matters
Coordinate and set up trial war rooms, including logistics, vendors, movers, supplies, exhibit display teams, and court coordination
Travel to out-of-town trials as needed
Litigation Paralegal Background Profile:
Minimum 5 years of litigation experience as a paralegal
Advanced knowledge of e-discovery best practices ESSENTIAL
Experience estimating discovery costs and managing vendor relationships
Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certificate ABA-approved program required
E-Discovery certification OR willingness to obtain ACEDS certification and maintain CLE requirements
Civil litigation experience required; white collar or tax experience is a plus
Ability to work independently while managing multiple urgent priorities
