Litigation Associate

A leading national law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in complex litigation, excellent academic credentials, and a keen interest in insurance coverage litigation, dispute analysis, and coverage assessments. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative team working alongside partners and clients on high-stakes matters.

• Draft complex case evaluations, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents.
• Handle all stages of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal.
• Conduct legal research and draft analytical memoranda.
• Manage written discovery, document review, and depositions.
• Work closely with clients, witnesses, experts, and other counsel.
• Analyze insurance coverage and extra-contractual disputes, including drafting coverage opinions and related analyses.

• 4-6 years of complex litigation experience is required.
• Experience in insurance coverage litigation is a plus; candidates with complex litigation experience and an interest in insurance coverage work are encouraged to apply.
• Genuine interest in emerging risks in insurance, as well as environmental and products liability underlying litigation.
• Strong writing, case management, client-facing, and oral advocacy skills.
• A federal District Court or Appellate clerkship is a plus.

• Must be licensed to practice law and in good standing in the state where the candidate will be practicing.
• Candidates for Washington, DC, may be licensed in any U.S. state or territory if eligible to waive into the Washington, DC Bar.
