Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Lead’s responsibility is to support the Logistics Department, focusing on inbound and outbound shipments and their associated processes. They follow best practice and standard work to ensure compliance with DOT, accounting, and regulated transportation principles and laws, while executing their functions safely, prioritizing quality and food safety, and doing so in a timely and cost‑efficient manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Identify best shipping method(s) and correctly classify products.
- Accurate scheduling, unloading, and inspection/receipt of incoming/outgoing shipments.
- General document management – accurately complete shipping documents including bill of lading, shipper’s letter of instruction, inventory, receipts, and all other pertinent documentation.
- Accurate data entry both clerical and computer based.
- Oversee and help manage Indorama warehouse locations.
- Develop, review, and update the logistics standard work.
- Communicate with all levels in a timely manner.
- Safely perform job duties.
- Responsible for Quality and Food Safety.
- Maintain good housekeeping (5S).
- Train logistics new hires.
- Manage the material handler job duties.
- Manage warehouse space.
- Organize WIP inventory (i.e., 60pts, PO chip, flake).
- Ensure Quality Checks are met.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in shipping and receiving in a logistics department.
- 3+ years of forklift experience.
- Excellent verbal, written, and computer skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- 3+ years of computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Knowledge of purchase orders, sales orders, etc.
- Must be a good problem solver, good listener, analytical, and hands‑on.
- Ability to focus on detail and identify opportunities.
- Self‑motivated and able to organize work.
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to noise, heat, and machinery.
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Full-time, with flexibility to address operational needs during non‑standard hours.
