Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced individual to join our team as the Director of Strategic Sourcing. In this role, you will lead our existing Strategic Sourcing team — four Category Managers — to identify, negotiate, and execute the savings opportunities needed to hit our annual run-rate savings targets. You will also mature our procurement organization’s processes, including serving as a first line of defense within our Coupa workflows and standardizing intake to make it easier for business units (BUs) to engage procurement.
Success in this role requires a blend of strong Business Unit relationship-building and change management skills alongside the procurement acumen to know where savings opportunities live across the organization.
- Savings Delivery Against Run-Rate Targets:
Lead the end-to-end process — identification, RFP/RFI, negotiation, and execution — of savings opportunities across the organization to meet annual run-rate savings targets. - Opportunity Identification & Procurement Acumen:
Apply deep category and market knowledge to proactively identify where savings opportunities exist, prioritizing the highest-impact areas of spend rather than waiting for BUs to bring opportunities forward. - BU Relationship Management & Change Management:
Build strong relationships with business unit stakeholders to understand spend drivers and business needs, and effectively change-manage new sourcing strategies, vendors, and processes into the organization. - Category Manager Leadership:
Lead, coach, and develop the team of four Category Managers — setting priorities, holding the team accountable to savings targets, and building a high-performance sourcing culture. - Procurement Process Maturity:
Build and mature standardized procurement processes across the organization, including standardizing the intake process so BUs have a clear, consistent way to engage procurement. - Coupa First-Line Review:
Serve as (and lead the team in serving as) the first line of defense within Coupa procurement workflows — reviewing requisitions and POs for policy compliance, sourcing opportunity, and proper approvals. - Contract Management:
Own and continuously improve the organization’s contract management practices — negotiating favorable terms, ensuring compliance, and tracking key milestones and renewals. - Vendor Relationship Management:
Maintain strong relationships with key vendors across categories such as IT, Marketing, and G&A to drive value, resolve issues, and support ongoing negotiations. - Stakeholder Engagement:
Engage executive-level stakeholders to communicate sourcing strategy, savings performance, and process improvements. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with the Procure-to-Pay, Real Estate, and Travel & Expense teams to ensure procurement integrates seamlessly with the broader business. - Continuous Improvement & Innovation:
Continuously identify opportunities for process optimization, tooling improvements, and innovation within the sourcing and procurement function.
- Proven track record delivering measurable savings against run-rate targets through sourcing, RFP, negotiation, and execution.
- Experience leading and developing a team of Category Managers or similar sourcing professionals.
- Strong procurement/category acumen, with the ability to identify savings opportunities across diverse spend categories (e.g., IT, Marketing, G&A).
- Demonstrated experience building relationships with BU stakeholders and leading change management for new sourcing strategies and vendors.
- Strong contract management and negotiation expertise.
- Experience with Coupa or similar procurement/P2P platforms, including intake and approval workflow design.
- Experience standardizing and maturing procurement processes in a growing organization.
- Excellent communication and executive stakeholder engagement abilities.
- BS/BA in IT, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management.
- 8+ years of experience in Procurement, preferably in procurement operations or strategic sourcing.
- Knowledge of compliance and experience with controls.
