Job SummaryThe Supply Planning Analyst supports the execution of supply planning, inventory management, and customer fulfillment strategies to ensure product availability while optimizing inventory investment, working capital, and service performance. Reporting to the Supply Planning Manager, this role analyzes supply and demand trends, monitors inventory health, supports supply plan execution, and provides insights to improve operational and financial performance.
The position partners closely with Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, Finance, and Distributor Operations to identify supply risks, support problem resolution, and drive continuous improvement. The role also supports customer inventory allocation activities during periods of constrained supply, helping ensure fair, data-driven decisions aligned with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities Supply Planning & Inventory Management- Support the development and execution of supply plans that balance customer service, inventory, and operational objectives.
- Monitor inventory positions, supply constraints, forecast changes, and service performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Analyze inventory health and recommend actions to improve inventory productivity, reduce shortages, and minimize excess and obsolete inventory.
- Support inventory policy management, replenishment strategies, and long-range inventory planning initiatives.
- Coordinate with supply planners and operations teams along with suppliers and procurement to monitor supply performance and resolve issues impacting product availability.
- Assist in developing recovery plans for constrained materials and product shortages while accounting for the differences in NAC and non-NAC customer volume.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and KPIs related to inventory, supply performance, service levels, and forecast attainment.
- Perform root cause analysis on supply, inventory, and service issues and provide actionable recommendations.
- Translate business challenges into data-driven insights that support decision making.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual planning activities through reporting and analysis.
- Support inventory allocation processes during constrained supply situations by evaluating available inventory, open orders, forecasted demand, and business priorities.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Supply Chain Analysts (SCA’s) and Supply Planning teams to communicate allocation decisions and supply impacts.
- Maintain visibility of constrained products and support execution of allocation strategies when required.
- Lead critical supply and allocation reviews to help balance customer needs with available inventory.
- Partner with Demand Planning, Procurement, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, SCA’s and Operations to ensure alignment on supply and inventory plans.
- Support new product launches, product transitions, customer onboarding, and commercialization activities.
- Communicate supply risks, inventory concerns, and recommended actions to stakeholders.
- Participate in S&OP/IBP processes through analysis, reporting, and preparation of planning inputs.
- Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, reporting, automation, and data quality.
- Drive adoption of tools and systems that improve planning efficiency and decision-making.
- Support development of standard operating procedures, metrics, and best practices across the planning organization.
- Leverage SAP, Power BI, Excel, and other planning tools to improve visibility and scalability.
