Overview

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for managing demand planning, procurement, and supplier relationships to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations. This role oversees the sourcing and purchasing of raw materials, parts, and services while balancing cost, quality, and delivery requirements. The Purchasing Manager develops and executes purchasing strategies based on market conditions, supplier capabilities, and business needs to ensure materials are available in the right quantities and at the right time.

Additionally, this role leads plant-level supply chain personnel, maintains procurement records and compliance documentation, and collaborates with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support production goals, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform Supply and Demand planning to ensure the proper materials are available in the correct quantities at the right time
  • Purchase raw materials, parts, services, that are necessary for the operations.
  • Meet with Suppliers as to product, price, ability to produce product, and capabilities to meet requirements.
  • Reviews competitive proposals to make purchases to improve price conditions and meet quality requirements.
  • Manage purchasing records, requisitions, orders, certificates of conformance, corrective action reports and other necessary records.
  • Observe market economics and constraints to create near and long-term Purchasing strategies.
  • Ensures our Suppliers have the right materials at the right facilities at the right time to accomplish our production plans.
  • Supervise plant sourcing/supply chain personnel
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience
  • 5-7 years of work experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain
  • Proven track record of delivering results & strategy implementation BS/BA required. MBA desired or relevant certifications
Physical Requirements
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee regularly is required to walk,climbor balance, and talk and hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
